Click \"Add New\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/news-post-add-2-1024x945.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3021\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Enter the post\u2019s title at the top where it says \u201cAdd title\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Enter the post\u2019s content by adding blocks of various types. To add a block, click the \u201c+\u201d button in the top left corner. A dropdown will allow you to choose which type of block you want to add. The only block types you should need are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paragraph<\/li><li>Image<\/li><li>Heading<\/li><li>List<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/news-post-add-3-1024x964.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3019\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>5. In the Categories section of the Editor side bar, check off \u201cNews\u201d. Note that you can optionally check off \u201cShow In GlobeCM Site\u201d in addition to \u201cNews\u201d if you want it to show up in the News &amp; Noteables section of the GlobeCM site's Home page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/newsCategories.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3009\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>6. In the Featured Image section of the Editor side bar, add an image. This is the image that will be displayed for this post in the News archive page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/news-post-add-5-531x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3015\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>7. In the Excerpt section of the Editor side bar, write a short excerpt. Feel free to copy one or two sentences from the post\u2019s content that sum up the post well. This excerpt is what will be displayed for this post near the bottom of the Home page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/news-post-add-6-543x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3013\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>8. In the Tags section of the Editor side bar, add one or more tags to the post. To add tags, just start typing the tag you want. It is important to keep similar tags consistent; \u201cEco-Friendly\u201d, \u201cEco Friendly\u201d and \u201ceco-friendly\u201d will all be considered different tags. Note that adding tags is optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oldsite.globepm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/news-post-add-7-688x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3011\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>9. When you are done all of these steps and you\u2019ve added the post\u2019s content, click \u201cPublish\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. Always check that your new blog post is being displayed correctly everywhere after publishing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to your new post\u2019s page to verify that it\u2019s displaying correctly.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"\/news\">News archive page<\/a> and check that the post\u2019s short version is appearing correctly and that whatever tags you added to the post are showing up properly in the list of tags.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"\/\">Home page<\/a> and verify that the News &amp; Notables section near the bottom is displaying your new post correctly.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globecm.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GlobeCM site's Home page<\/a> and verify that your new post is showing there if it should be, or not showing there if it shouldn't be.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
