How to Edit the GlobeCM Site’s Content

A quick overview:

The GlobeCM site grabs its news posts and apartment images from the GlobePM site, so to edit these you’ll need to log into the GlobePM site.

The information shown in the tables in the GlobeCM site’s Properties page is managed by the GlobeCM site itself, so to edit the table entries you’ll need to log into the GlobeCM site.

How to edit the apartment images shown in the Portfolio section of the Home page (in the GlobeCM site):

The Portfolio section of the GlobeCM site’s Home page displays the first image of each Apartment in the GlobePM site. This means that to edit these images, you’ll need to log into the GlobePM site and edit the Apartment posts’ images. This will of course also affect the images shown for the Apartments in the GlobePM site. Note that if you hover over one of the images in the GlobeCM site, the corresponding apartment’s name will appear – use this to figure out which Apartment you want to edit. When you’re done editing the images, you’ll need to click the “CLEAR APARTMENT CACHE” button in the GlobePM site’s Admin Guide to make the changes appear. Please see the How to Edit an Apartment page for more details on editing apartment images.

How to edit the news posts shown on the Home page (in the GlobeCM site):

The News & Noteables section of the GlobeCM site’s Home page displays news posts from the GlobePM site. This means that to edit these news posts, you’ll need to log into the GlobePM site and edit the news posts there. This will of course also affect the news posts shown in the GlobePM site. Note that the GlobeCM site does not display all of the news posts in the GlobePM site, only the ones that have the “Show In GlobeCM Site” category ticked off. So to edit which posts are shown in the GlobeCM site, go check or uncheck that category on each news post in the GlobePM site. Note that you can see how to do this, and how to edit a news post in general, on the How to Enter a Blog Post page.

How to edit the apartment table content shown on the Properties page (in the GlobeCM site):

Log into the GlobeCM site and click either “Residential Apartments” or “Commercial Apartments” in the sidebar, depending on which apartment you want to edit, or which type of apartment you want to create if you’re adding a new one.

If creating a new apartment, click “Add New” near the top of the page.

If editing an existing apartment, find the apartment in the list, preferably using the search bar near the top of the page to find it more quickly. Click on the apartment you want to edit.

Add/edit the information you want, and then click “Publish” or “Update”, depending on whether it’s a new apartment or you’re editing an existing one.

Note that if you want to set an apartment’s location to a city that does not exist in the list of options, you should contact RTS to add the new city. You can add cities yourself, but you’ll need to make sure you’re adding it under the correct province and adding a French translation for the city, so it’s probably easier to get someone at RTS to do it or to have them walk you through it over the phone if you’d like to learn how to do it yourself.

The totals at the bottom of the tables are calculated automatically, so you don’t need to do anything to update these totals.
