Things to see and do

One of the best things you can do in Wolseley is just take a walk around the neighbourhood. This is one of the oldest intact communities in Western Canada, with many of the buildings in the neighbourhood having been built before 1930. You’ll see beautiful, big homes, many of which used to be rooming houses.

On your stroll, you might encounter one of Wolseley’s many community spaces. Stop by Prairie Sky, a space that’s part bookstore, part general store. Head over to Tall Grass Prairie and grab some of Winnipeg’s most famous cinnamon buns. Looking for something you can really sink your teeth into? Visit Bonnie Day, one of Wolseley’s newest restaurants, with an eclectic (and wonderful) menu.

There’s a lot of sightseeing to do in Wolseley, too – and in the spirit of the community, a lot of it is free! You can stroll down the alleyway of Canora and Ethelbert Street to see the Arctic Art Gallery – ordinary garages painted with picturesque arctic animals. Or you can visit the Westminster Church, a gorgeous Gothic Revival-style church that was built 100 years ago.

This is just a small list of the many things there are to enjoy in the community. When you move to Wolseley, just ask your neighbours what there is to do – they’re sure to tell you all about the neighbourhood!

Getting around

Wolseley is right next to Winnipeg’s Downtown, so it’s easy to get from the neighbourhood to anywhere else in the city. The community is served by Portage Avenue, one of Winnipeg’s most important thoroughfares. And busing around town from Wolseley is easy, with the 10 running through the community, and Express lines like the 21 running down nearby Portage.

You’ll find that most people in Wolseley get around using active transportation like biking and walking. Many of the streets are closed off to vehicle traffic at times, making it a great place to take a stroll and meet neighbours.

An incredible community

You can find everything you need in Wolseley – and we’re not just talking about a sense of community. You can find grocery stores, pharmacies, spas, doctors, dentists, and more in the neighbourhood. You’re also a short walk away from Polo Park for all of your shopping needs. And there are great schools and parks in the neighbourhood, too, so it’s an awesome place to raise a family.

Enjoy Wolseley!

No matter where you choose to live in Wolseley, you’ll find a selection of wonderful apartments available for rent. We have one, two, and three bedroom apartments, so no matter what your lifestyle is, there will be a perfect space for you. Come to Wolseley, and become a part of one of Winnipeg’s most loving communities.
